1 | Faithful response to gays / lesbians? | Rom 1:21 | EdB | 87180
Justme I too have a problem with the way handle divorced people. However is not allowing them to hold certain offices making them second class citizens or could it be God for His own reasons hasn’t called divorced people into this type of service. In the Old Testament if a person was handicapped he wasn't to become a priest. Was that because God viewed him as second class or was it because God hadn't called him in to serve him as a priest. God has never called me to birth a baby does that mean I'm second class? No it means I'm a man not a woman. Are we taking God’s guidelines and interpreting them as something other than God intended. God said an elder should be the husband of one wife. Could it be that God has an very excellent reason for this that we have no understanding of? Should we assume it is God’s punishment for a man being divorced. That God views him as being a second class citizen. Or should we say God said it and that enough for me? Just a thought EdB |

I see that what you were before the cross doesn't matter including divorce or anything else you can think of. Paul was a murder before he became one of if not the greatest man of faith. Keep what was before the cross there. Also God will always honor His word no matter who speaks it. For example he did honor His word that was spoken by a donkey.

Dmunn Your right I agree. however in this case God never said the problem with a divorced man serving as a pastor is the fact he committed a sin. God just said he didn't want them as pastors. EdB |
