1 | Faithful response to gays / lesbians? | Rom 1:21 | justme | 87188
EdB: My point was that if the reason a person is divorced must examined case by case in consideration for serving positions. I think of a Pastor of a very large SBC church that is in Atlanta GA. In his case the church kept him and there is no apparent problems with the church in accepting a divorced man who was divorced as a Christian. I sincerely hope they are as forgiving and redemptive in persons leaving sinful life styles. I had made my note to respond that I am not sure how to work with a homosexual couple attending church as a regular attender, and participant in church activities. I believe in my best recall, that all sin is forgiven in the same way. Is it not mankind that often judges harsher than the Lord? Relating a man giving birth to a Christian whom the Lord has forgiven does not realy compair, I don't think. One is stubborness on Christians, the other is not even remotely possible. How whould the church of today handel David today? I believe the results would have been much different, don't you? Thoughts? justme |

2 | Faithful response to gays / lesbians? | Rom 1:21 | jwj | 87196
I don't know how much of the details you are aware of in this pastors situation in Atlanta. I think the main thing for him was a mentaly unstable wife who demanded the divorce. She was medically documented for the condition. His to me is a rare case of being able to stay in the ministry.I believe that only GOD can be the final judge of whether they made the right choice or not. As far as ministering to gays in the church there to me is but one way. Lead them to a saveing knowledge of Jesus and then work with them to rebuild a christian biblical life style.

EdB: You have made my point, if we do not take the persons divorce case by case for leadership we may well have commited a grave unjustice. I am not saying what the answer is to Just Read Mark's question that gays should be welcomed and allowed to fully particapte in church activities anymore that other people who are in gross open sin. justme |
