Subject: Where does Jesus say He is God? |
Bible Note: Well, this is my second attempt to respond. The first got lost in cyber space. First off, I do not believe the bible is the word of god. Period. Nor do I believe that the Egyptian Book of the Dead is necessary for life after death. Although the bible contains many words of wisdom, as do all ancient sacred texts, I believe most of it is metaphore and mythology. See, I call myself an agnostic, BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS AFTER DEATH. NO ONE EVER COMES BACK TO TELL ME ABOUT IT!!! Secondly, I don't believe in an old man sitting on a throng (thrown?). If someone else were to ask me that question, I guess I would answer by saying, "I've lived life to the fullest. I've been of service to, loved, and been compassionate to my fellow human beings and all other living creatures I have had contact with. (This is true!!!) And I just don't believe a loving, creative energy that flows through all living things would send us somewhere to suffer for eternity---IF there is an eternity for us. Maybe, just MAYBE, when our bodies die, the lights go out and that's it! Over. Done. Non-existance. Hmmmmmmm........perhaps THAT is why no one comes back to tell the rest of us about what happens. Just a thought........nancy |
