Bible Note: Greetings Darktanianxx, If you want to believe that Satan wanted Christ dead, then that is perfectly fine, since it was out of envy that Satan and/or the chief priests and elders wanted Him crucified (Matthew 27:18). However, do not lose sight of the fact that Jesus was in complete control in John 18:1-11 (when Judas [filled by Satan, as you have noted] came to arrest Him), and also note Mark 14:49 where it says, "...but this has taken place to fulfill the Scriptures." Please also read Matthew 26:53-54... "Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then should the scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?" [RSV] Jesus was in complete control of the situation in Gethsemane, when Judas came to arrest Him, and there was nothing that Satan could do to Him, that He did not first allow Satan to do. Do not forget 1 John 4:4.. "Little children, you are of God, and have overcome them; for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." [RSV] Blessings to you, Makarios |
