Bible Note: Darktanianxx I know it is not scripture but there is a song sung in the church. It goes something like this, "No one took my life I gave it willingly." Jesus said as he was arrested if he desired legions of angels would have saved Him. When he stood before Pilate Jesus responded to Pilate’s statement that he Pilate had authority to release or to crucify Jesus. Jesus said you have nothing unless it has been given to you from above. John 19:10-11 Satan had started a chain of events that soon he lost control of. He wanted Jesus arrested, he wanted Jesus humiliated, he wanted Jesus to lose all credibility, but the last thing he wanted was Jesus to become the perfect sacrifice for the remission of sins of man. We are told Pilate was afraid, we are told fear is not of God. Satan was trying to make Pilate so afraid he would release Jesus. Satan had a plan, Satan saw that plan crumble by the perfect love of God. EdB |
