Bible Note: Darktanianxx writes: "Those things are the gospel message as a whole picture and not just the simple part that Jesus died on the cross. Their is so much more to it than that..." But what does the Scripture say? 1 Cor 15:1-4 (NASB) Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. (The New American Standard Bible, 1995 Update, La Habra, California: The Lockman Foundation, 1996.) There is no need whatsoever to speculate about what the Gospel is. No need to write an essay on it. No need to give one's own definition. The Gospel is plainly defined in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. The Gospel is the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, according to the scriptures. |
