AMPLIFIED 2015 | Job 1:8 The LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered and reflected on My servant Job? For there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God [with reverence] and abstains from and turns away from evil [because he honors God]." |
Bible Question: can anyone give me insight on job 1:8-10. i am going to preach on this and any highlights would be appreciated. |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Job 1:1-2:10 ... STRIVING, greetings. If you are going to preach this, I challenge to to study Scriprure yourself. Job 1:8-10 could be used to promote the Health and Wealth lie. I did a search using ... "Job 1:8" "Health and Wealth" ... and got 20 hits. Also, Job 1:1, is the same as verse 8, where there are four things about Job ... -blameless (Gen 10:23) -upright (Eze 14:14,20) -feared God (Psa 25:1) -shunned evil (Deu 4:6) I included a verse each, but there is a lot more. I'll let you look it up. Contrast the hedging of God in verse 9, with 3:23. Notice that God didn't say what Satan said was true. Did Job curse God, when he lost it all (vs 10) ... (1:22, 2:9-10). Read the first two chapters of Job as you study, as well as related passages in the Bible. Hope this helps, Searcher |
