1 | a righteous man | Job 1:8 | Makarios | 58533
Greetings Darktanianxx, If you want to believe that Satan wanted Christ dead, then that is perfectly fine, since it was out of envy that Satan and/or the chief priests and elders wanted Him crucified (Matthew 27:18). However, do not lose sight of the fact that Jesus was in complete control in John 18:1-11 (when Judas [filled by Satan, as you have noted] came to arrest Him), and also note Mark 14:49 where it says, "...but this has taken place to fulfill the Scriptures." Please also read Matthew 26:53-54... "Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then should the scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?" [RSV] Jesus was in complete control of the situation in Gethsemane, when Judas came to arrest Him, and there was nothing that Satan could do to Him, that He did not first allow Satan to do. Do not forget 1 John 4:4.. "Little children, you are of God, and have overcome them; for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." [RSV] Blessings to you, Makarios |

2 | a righteous man | Job 1:8 | Darktanianxx | 58538
I truly truly appreciate your concern. I am very very glad to see that you understand that about Jesus and His motives. Like I said before, Jesus knew before the world was created, that satan and his children would have him crucified/killed. Since Jesus has been ressurected, satan has no power over us 1John says the wicked one touches them not! Anything satan does to us is allowed by God for our chastening, not our destruction. ........God bless!
3 | a righteous man | Job 1:8 | Makarios | 58542
Greetings Darktanianxx, But you are missing one last point.. You see, Satan is not the one who "killed" Christ.. Satan did not "kill" Christ. Christ gave up Himself to the judgment and oppression of the people. Satan may have had an influence, but he, himself, nor his "children" (as you say), had anything to do with "killing Christ." It was the Law that killed Christ, not Satan, because Christ became sin for us; a perfect sacrifice, for all time (Romans 7:1-12, 8:1-7; Hebrews 10:12). Blessings to you, Makarios |
