Dear friends, Thank you for your response, however I still find all those verses VERY open to interpretation. Hank, YES, I would argue that "word" does not necessarily mean "Jesus". Perhaps "truth?" Which COULD mean anything. After all, do YOU claim to know the "truth?" John was the last gospel written down and considered the most "mystical." Therefore, anything in it could mean ANYTHING depending on the reader. Also, when Jesus uses the word "Son", is it possible that He meant "son" (lower case S) to indicate that we are ALL sons and daughters of God? All these different versions of the bible testify to various groups who perfer THEIR PERSONAL interpretation. I am just trying to find where everyone says that Jesus SPECIFICALLY said, "I am God."

THAT, Hank, is exactly my point. "Choice" to believe what we want or interpret what we want and how we want are all part of the COMPLETE free will God has given us. The bible has many beautiful and wise statements through out it. But it has also been copied and copied and recopied complete with mistakes by scribes, or additions inserted so that the gospels would be more in agreement with each other.
