Bible Note: Greetings Alien Resident! :-) I have never said that 'since no Christian ever voted in the Bible that we shouldn't either'. I would never say that any more than I would say that 'no Christian ever drove a car; therefore, neither should we'. My concern is that you seem to be taking verses entirely out of context to make your point. I can accept implied Scriptural principles if the reasoning is sound. For instance, abortion is never mentioned in the Bible. Yet, there are plenty of principles that I believe support the idea that abortion is wrong. However, as of yet, I haven't seen you point to any solid Scriptural principles to support your position. This wouldn't be important except for the fact that you are presenting your personal opinion on this issue as Scriptural fact. I asked about your Scripture reference in your last post because I thought it was an excellent example of what I have been trying to say - i.e. that it had nothing to do with politics whatsoever. It was a non-Christian advising his fellow Jewish leaders that they ought not to persecute the disciples because they just might be right. If you would care to lay out a sound Biblical argument for your position, I would be happy to consider it. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
