so in my situation, my husband abused me physically, emotionally, and spiritually, I could NOT get him to stop, so I should stay in that relationship and keep begging him to quit hurting me, because I am bound by GOD? Is that God's plan for me? I have to suffer for the rest of my life, and possibly get killed because Of Religious LAWS? | ||||||

Hi Shelly, I have read some of the responses and must say that I am surprised at the number of believers who have all but said, 'Ignore God's word and do what you 'feel' is right'. Even the statement that God would not expect you to do thus and such, but no scriptural support was given for these opinions. Shame on you forum members! I am sure the scriptures have already been presented to you on this issue, so I would like to ask you to clarify another statement you made. Although you are applying it to the subject of divorce, I would like to ask you it this is your belief on other topics. You asked,"Is that God's plan for me? I have to suffer for the rest of my life, and possibly get killed because Of Religious LAWS?" My question is "Do you consider God's Word 'religious laws'?" If you would please...give your thoughts on the following verses. 2 Timothy 3:14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. |
