Bible Question:
Supply Scriptural support for saying "To say that a Chrisitan wife of an abusive (CHRISTIAN)husband has to be punished for the rest of her life by being made to be single, is quite contrary to God's nature." ... How is one punished for being single? ... How is it contrary to God's nature? "I don't think God wants us to suffer because someone else CHOOSES to live a sinful life." ... Do you remember the result of David's sin with Bathsheba ... and his counting the troops. HIS sin had a big impact on others. ... How does one suffer people of other's sin not Biblical? |
Bible Answer: I just want to address suffering. In Romans 8:17 the idea of suffering and sharing whith Christ' glory is an area of scripture you might like to study. I have found that verse and Romans 8:29 helpfull in undrestanding my suffering better. C. S. Lewis wrote a lot about suffering. I believe Lewis said something like suffering is Gods way of getting the our attention. As for your abusive spouse what makes you believe he is a born again Christian? What kind of abuse are you talking about? There are laws, and police, that are there to protect you. There are womens safe houses if you are in danger. You should make your pastor aware of this and see what wisdom he has. Nothing is Impossible with God! We are praying for you. |
