1 | Generation or Race? | John 5:19 | mark d seyler | 127744
Hi Steve and Fatherof4, When I have studied this passage (Luke 21), it seems that "generation" could also be translated as "race". This would mean that Jesus could have been saying that the Jews would not disappear until all is fulfilled. Does anyone have any information on this? Love in Christ, Mark |

2 | Generation or Race? | John 5:19 | Morant61 | 127748
Greetings Mark! That is certainly one possible meaning of the word! However, 'generation' seems to the fit the context better. One of the problems with the preterist view is that it assumes 'this generation' refers to the generation alive at the moment Jesus is speaking. It is also possible that 'this generation' refers to the generation alive when the signs mentioned in the preceeding verses actually occur. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Hi Tim, Thank you for your confirmation of possible translations. I have always thought the meaning of the verse referred to the last days generation, although I leave the door open until it is actually fulfilled. Love in Christ, Mark |
