I don't promote either party, but what would you tell your precious child about Republicans? Seems the same criticisms could be raised, so what's the solution? I can find no Scriptural support for the notion that Jesus and the early Christians were political activists, but rather quite the contrary. Paul counseled: "I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing." (1 Tim 2:1,2,8) Perhaps politics is inherently divisive, worldly, and to be avoided by united Christian brothers and sisters. (James 4:4) Perhaps allegiance to God's Kingdom requires that we put our trust in it and not man's promises? (Psalm 146:3-5; Matt 6:33; 1 John 2:15-17; Prov 53:5,6) Just a thought. |

In case you missed it: I'm sure you've heard the expression: "All it takes for evil to succeed is for the good, moral folks in the world to remain silent." The devil will do the rest. |
