Bible Note: Dear disciplerami, Your discription of calvinsm is as far from the truth as Madelyn Murray O'Hares' description of christianity. If indeed you read my posts on the doctrine, you have not read them with understanding. I'm sorry to say it but your critique is a sad misrepresentation of what calvinists understand the Bible to say. It is typical of those who demand that man must be in control if God is to be found just. The key to understanding why I believe the doctrines of grace taught by the reformers to be scriptural, is found in the attributes of God Himself. He is the soveriegn Lord over all and all that He has done is just, holy and perfect. Man is in no position to critisize or call his creator to account. The deliberately ignorant that attempt to do so are soon confounded.(I don't mean to infer that you yourself are deliberate in your ignorance). Perhaps my poor scribbling has exacerbated rather than helped your problem with calvinism. If you are truly interested in discovering the truth about the doctrines of grace or TULIP, visit www.reformed.org Perhaps after your being better informed, we might find a starting place for a discussion. If you are opposed to my suggestion, a discussion of the texts of scripture that inform my theology may be profitable. John |
