Bible Note: Greetings Disciplerami! I can't speak for John my friend, but as for me, I do not believe in a limited Atonement. The reason I asked you earlier about your distinction between physical death and spiritual death is not because I don't believe in the two, but because I don't find any Scriptural support that spiritual death only occurs in a person's life when they commit their first act of sin. I believe that we are born spiritual dead. Of course, this is what we have been discussing in another place! :-) The only question between Calvinists and Arminians about 'what spiritual death entails' concerns the effect of spiritual death upon an individual. Does 'spiritually dead' mean unable to respond to the Gospel? This would be one point where my brother John and I would disagree. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
