Subject: Isn't Baptism neccessary for salvation?? |
Bible Note: CDBJ 'All of the Old Testament believers had to have faith in God’s perfect sacrifice the same way that we do today; they looked forward to it and we look back.' I appreciate your post. I was talking to a co-worker Wednesday and she said that she hopes to get to heaven ... IF she 'doesn't mess up too bad' (her exact words). I tried to convey to her that if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we shall be saved. She believes you have to 'have Jesus' but... it's 'faith and works' (again, her exacts words). Then she preceded to ask how was it determined in the OT who was 'saved'. I said I believed that those who were looking for the promised Messiah was the determining factor (thinking of Heb 11:13). Too bad I didn't say it as you did :) Meredith |
