Bible Note: Greetings One! While I understand your point, I don't entirely agree. The thief was being promised a place in Heaven after the death of Christ, not prior to it. So, the basic argument is that he was saved in the same way that we are. In fact, I would argue that all saints, past and future, were saved by faith! :-) So, the question would be this: Why would Christ save the thief by faith alone and then demand that everyone else be saved by faith plus baptism?
