Bible Note: Greetings Colin! I don't see the message of Mt. 25:45-46 as primarily concerning salvation. It refers to the judgement of the nations after the tribulation. Christians will already be with Christ by this point. Further, this limited judgement doesn't seem to be based upon their works, but their condition is evidenced by their works. Notice that the passage refers to them as either 'sheeps' and 'goats', 'righteous' and 'unrighteous', or 'blessed' and 'cursed'. As we have been discussing concerning sanctification, our 'works' don't make us righteous, God does. Rom. 5:19 says, "For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous." So, to answer your last question my friend, I would say that they did not do these things BECAUSE they had rejected Him, not that they rejected Him by not doing them.
