Bible Note: Emmaus, A man chained to a wall of a dry cave can be saved through confession of faith just as well as a believer dunked in the River Jordan, right? Help me understand "the ordinary insrumental means of appropriating grace". As I understand Protestant theology, the act of faith, a gift we receive through God's grace, is sufficient in that it is an act of the heart in no need of intrumentation. Protestantism holds, if you'll that though God does work through things to get to us, these things are not necessary for us to get to God. Colin |
