1 | Sunday or Saturday? | Col 2:16 | djconklin | 25408
"The original question was "What is the true worship day, Sunday or Saturday?"" However, the devil lies in the details and here we are looking at specifically at Col. 2:16-17. What does it say about Sunday? --- Skipping the sarcasm; "I truly can't see that you have made a conclusive statement on this issue." I have said it a number of times; let's try it again in a different way: THIS VERSE DOES NOT CONDEMN SABBATH-KEEPING AS IS COMMONLY CLAIMED. IT ISN'T EVEN TALKING ABOUT THE SEVENTH-DAY SABBTH IN THE FIRST PLACE. Hmm-m-m, capitalizing definitely does help it to stand out. |

2 | What day do YOU attend church? | Col 2:16 | charis | 25410
Dear djconklin, Greetings in the name of Jesus! Friend, I see that you are being very careful to only answer the 'whole' question originally asked by cd3 back in April. You have made the point that Colossians 2:16 and 17 speaks nothing of the Sabbath. Fine. The 'short' version of the question, however, is pretty clearly asking, "What is the true worship day, Sunday or Saturday?" This question demands an answer such as "Saturday" or "Sunday" or "both" or "neither" or "it doesn't matter" or "I don't know" or SOMETHING! I was just wondering if you had an opinion about this? You intimated that your pastoral training kept you from making eisegetical statements or promulgating mythical dogma. So, maybe I can take a different tack, and ask you something that you CAN answer without obfuscation. What day do you attend church? Now see, that wasn't too bad! :-) Much easier than a root canal or a liver transplant! Please know that I don't seem to corner the market on sarcasm. :-) You do a fine job yourself! Please know that we are not trying to mean or anything. Those of us that have been around for a while have had to fight tooth and nail for clear Biblical statements. You might say that we desire 'hot or cold' and 'yes or no' answers, because there are so many 'lukewarm' and 'maybe' answers that are not answers. Peace to you in Christ Jesus, charis |

3 | What day do YOU attend church? | Col 2:16 | djconklin | 25511
"What day do you attend church?" You are assuming that I go to church. Much like many "commentators" assume that they know what Col. 2:16-17 is talking about. Tit-for-tat and it won't hurt as much as (well, that assumes you don't put your foot in it): what is Col.2:16-17 about? |

4 | What day do YOU attend church? | Col 2:16 | charis | 25529
Dear djconklin, Assuming that you go to church is assuming too much? Wow! I guess then that I would be assuming too much if I assumed that you Christian, simply because you were posting on a Study Bible forum, right? Before you say I am judging you, please note that I am saying nothing of the sort! I have finished assuming that you have manners or common courtesy, too. In Christ Jesus, charis |

5 | What day do YOU attend church? | Col 2:16 | djconklin | 25552
I have met atheists posting on Christian boards. I have been taught howe to read very carefully and since I have been attacked on this board it should be no surprise to anyone that my shields are up. Fundamentally ,it is irrelevant on what day I worship. You are not saved or lost by my example. Your only question should be: what does the Bible say? |
