Bible Note: Greetings Djconklin! While the LXX doesn't use the term 'heorte' directly with the Day of Atonement or the Feast of Trumpets, it does include them under that ruberic in Lev. 23:2. God tells Moses "these are my appointed feasts" and then lists: 1) Sabbaths - Lev. 23:3. 2) The Passover and Unleavened Bread - Lev. 23:4-8. 3) Firstfruits - Lev. 23:9-14. 4) Feast of Weeks - Lev. 23:15-22. 5) Feast of Trumpets - Lev. 23:23-25. 6) Day of Atonement - Lev. 23:26-32. 7) Feast of Tabernacles - Lev. 23:33-43. The chapter then ends with this phrase - "So Moses announced to the Israelites the appointed feasts of the LORD." Thus, according to Lev. 23:2 and Lev. 23:44, everything in Lev. 23 could be referred to as a 'heorte' or feast. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
