Bible Note: I prefer Shepard's reasoning since his is based on inspired scripture rather than changeable and often rewritten secular history. As far as a gold medal from Pope Paul excuse I know Rome’s scholarship. Aren’t these the guys that still believe the Pope is a direct descendant of Peter and that Mary never had any children other than Jesus and that Mary was immaculately conceived and Jesus is so busy in heaven fielding prayers that we should pray to Mary and various Saints so Jesus can have a day off. Excuse me as I chuckle at anything that comes from Rome and Infallible word of the Pope. From all indications (admittedly not many) Sunday became the day of choice for early (Apostolic era Christian) to worship God. I know there are many that want to tell me what Colossians 2:16 says and what Paul REALLY meant, but I was always taught words in black and white are binding and if Paul and God had intended to say something different they would have insured the Bible said something different. No I think I’ll just keep worshipping my Savior on the Lord’s day and let all the “intellectuals” (giggle) in Rome worry who changed the day. EdB |
