Bible Note: Graceful Okay I will give you my examples of Rahab Jacob and thief on the cross do not directly carry the same connotation as God using a medium but they do show God uses people that are not always doing what he desired. Balaam on the other hand was a true of example of God using an unholy prophet to prophesy blessing on the children of Israel. The reason the people that were righteous before Christ did not go directly to God is they still had unforgiven sin in the their lives. However that does not imply Satan had control of their souls. They were resting waiting for the Messiah. Satan can’t take a soul and bring it back to earth. Nothing in the Bible supports that idea. Mediums deal with familiar spirits, demons that know the past and present. They don’t know the future. Satan doesn’t know the future. When Jesus cast out the demon from the demonic they asked to go into the pigs. If they had known the future they would have known the pigs would race of the cliff and die. Instead they thought they were buying time until they could find another body to inhabit. When God brought forth Samuel the medium was stunned she had never had a righteous person appear before more importantly she never had any spirit tell the future. Why did God choose to do it this way I don’t know. But I do know Satan can not bring people back from the dead. He might deceive someone into thinking he can by letting you see one of his demons or an apparition, but this passage says Samuel appeared not an apparition. EdB |
