Subject: What was the answer? |
Bible Note: Graceful You said “I agree, Satan is not omniscient. He does not know all things. If he had known he would not have crucified the King of Glory. But again, you are speaking to the conflicting belief that the medium called a familiar spirit and not Samuel himself who did know.” First Satan did not crucify Jesus we did. Jesus went to the cross for our sin. Jesus allowed Himself to be place on the cross. Secondly you say he was talking to Samuel and Samuel did know. How did Samuel know he was dead? Are you suggesting that God informed Samuel of Saul’s death but never intended him to use that information. Doesn’t that seem to conflict with 2 Peter 1:20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, Therefore we have to surmise if God did tell Samuel this information, God intended Samuel to make it known to Saul. If Samuel was dead then God had to intend to bring Samuel back from the dead to tell Saul this. You asked why the woman shrieked because she knew instantly that Samuel was from God therefore this had to be Saul who had God’s hand upon him. Remember David when chased by Saul refused to touch him in his own defense. Why because he said thou shall not touch God’s anointed. You never addressed the fact that God did use an unrighteous prophet Balaam to prophesize blessing on Israel. Also please read 1 Kings 13 you will see that God used another false prophet to prophesize truth. It is a very interesting story, one which give you a lot more to think about. EdB |
