Bible Note: Dear Searcher56, I'm glad that you admit sprinkling and pouring to be traditions. There is a clear difference between these two words and the one translated 'baptism/baptize'. Baptize is in the Bible. We are commanded to be 'baptized/immersed/plunged' and we are not told to be 'sprinkled or poured.' The Catholic Encyclopedia is a pretty fair and impartial, even if it goes against them, and it says that 'immersion' was the earliest practice. You say you won't 'waste your breath', but I hope you do not see this as a waste. I don't. I think it is good to challenge one another. With best wishes, Disciplerami |
