Bible Answer: Col 2:16 ¶ Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Paraphrase ... sabbath equals shadow Christ.. equals the real body that casts the shadow the Real Body is the real thing not the shadow. The sabbath was given to point to things to come...the rest that Christ would give a man when he came into forgiveness and righteousness by faith in the finished WORK of chirst. SO christians do keep the sabbath by true faith in Christ to make them righteous. In other words if a man trys to get a sense of righteosness by working at keeping a day of the week, he fails. He is working. If a man rests in the finished work of the cross to make him righteous by faith, he RESTS. he therefore keeps the true sabbath. So keep the true sabbath and let those that would trouble you work on at it all they please, it is between them and God, but you may rest in His finished work. Heb 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. Heb 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Heb 4:11 ¶ Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. |
