Subject: Who made Sunday a day of worship |
Bible Note: Exodus 20 does NOT say to observe *a* day of rest or sabbath. What it says is: NASB Exodus 20:8 "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy." NOTE: "THE sabbath", not "A sabbath." Exodus 20 does not say "that can be any day as long as it is once every seven days." What it says is: NASB Ex 20: (9) Six days you shall labor and do all your work, (10) but the seventh day is a sabbath of the LORD your God;... (11) For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and made it holy. According to the text of the 10 Commandments, the sabbath day is not "any day"; it is THE SEVENTH DAY. We learn what the Bible means by what it says. |
