Subject: Are we expected to keep the sabath? |
Bible Note: Dear Arnie, You wrote:The problem I find is if we don't try to live by the commandments just exactly as God has given them to us, men will keep them in the manner THEY THINK they should, which means they will ultimately justify not keeping them at all. Those who deliberately twist scripture to suit their evil desires are false bretheren (Weeds that satan has sown among the wheat). This problem you wrote about is solved by learning the New Covenant that God has placed us under. We have been set free from the bondage of the law and are now to walk after the Spirit. The love of Christ constrains us. We are new creatures! Old things hae past away. We have not been set free not to sin but to serve Christ. The Law has been summed up for us. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and stregnth and your neighbor as yourself. That is enough to keep us humble and seeking the grace of God everyday for the rest of our lives.
