Subject: Who made Sunday a day of worship |
Bible Note: Thank you for your feed-back. When we as Christians look at the Old Testament we must do so through the eyes of the new covenant of spirit rather than law. Gal 5:18 says, But when you are directed by the Holy Spirit, you are no longer subjet to the law. (New Living Trans.) So we must look at the spirit of Ex 20:8 and following which is for us to have a day of rest every seven days to reenergize ourselves for service in His name. If my work week starts on a Tuesday and I work for 6 days (v.9) then my day of rest falls on Monday. Can you tell me what day of the week God started creation on? Romans 14:5,6 states One man considers one day more sacred than another, another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who reguards one day as special, does so to the Lord. (NIV) Paul in addressing the Romans made no mention of a certain day of the week, only that if I reguard one day special, I do so to the Lord. I happen to observe my sabbath on Sunday. I make time for worship, [everyday really], fellowship (family and friends), resting my body, and recharging my spirit. We learn what the Bible means through the interpretation of scripture by our Counselor the Holy Spirit, and the spiritual gift of knowledge. Peace----Jason |
