Bible Question: Who declared Sunday as a day of worship it wasn't God |
Bible Answer: Elder- We are not under the O.T. law. Jesus resurrected and appeared to his followers on the first day of the week. Each Sunday thereafter, He appeared to them. Pentecost was on a Sunday. If you read in Colossians 2:16, it doesn't matter whether you worship on Saturday or Sunday and stating one or the other is the ONLY day is being legalistic and no different that the Jewish leaders who condemned Jesus for healing on the "Sabbath". By the way, although the priciples expressed in the 10 commandments are reafirmed in the New Testament, the command to set Saturday apart as a day of rest and worship is the only one not repeated there. I think having the Lord's appearance on the first day of the week would put His seal of approval on choosing that day as a likely day to worship. |
