Bible Note: Ed, As someone "on the inside" as it were - I think the doo hit the fan over the long history of popes. Several of them were extremely corrupt. Due to this, I sincerely believe it can and probably will happen again. So we must be ever vigilant. Our current pope is taking phenomenal measures to reunify yet some folks still see him as the antichrist. Given the way of papal history, I really can't see it as paranoid. Just diligent. As for the baptism thing mentioned earlier? 1 Corinthians 28 When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all. 29 Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead?
