Subject: When did the catholic church go wrong? |
Bible Note: Thanks for the input! Have you ever heard of the Convergence movement? I read what I guess could be considered a white paper on it. The idea is the Orthodox religion which is basically your Catholics, Lutherans, Episcopalians, and etc focus on the Father of the Godhead. While the Evangelicals which are Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian and etc focus on Jesus of the Godhead. With the Pentecostals which are Church of God, Assemblies of God, and etc focus on the Holy Spirit of the Godhead. The convergence movement is proposing that the very best aspects of these three should be recombined into a completeness. They want to take the mystery of God, the formalness, respect for God and the wonder of God from Orthodoxy and combine this with grace, focus of teaching found in the Evangelicals uniting both to the power, enthusiasm and holiness of the Pentecostals. Believe me I’m not doing this justice but that is a brief view of their thoughts. It has interesting prospects if you think about it. EdB |
