Bible Note: Graceful Now I'm not denying that everyone since the fall has died except Enoch and Elijah nor do I deny that everyone that died before Christ did in fact go to Hades. The point I'm contesting is that the curse issued a physical death sentence. It did not in itself. The results may be death but the curse itself did not carry a pronouncement of physical death. Many have come to believe that it did but misconception comes from our focus on the physical rather than the spiritual. God and Jesus both tried to get our eyes off our physical situation and focus on the spiritual situation. Jesus said don't worry about what can kill the body worry about what can kill the spirit. He said don't worry about you clothes, you food, you wealth seek first the kingdom and everything else will be handled. If death was required then the hope of the church “the rapture” would be a violation of it. However since physical death is never mentioned in the curse God violates nothing He has said or willed by taking Enoch and Elijah to heaven. EdB |
