AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 13:8 ¶ Love never fails [it never fades nor ends]. But as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for the gift of special knowledge, it will pass away. |
Bible Question: I believe do not understand what it means to obey Acts 2:38. You bring up tongues and it is not there. It is there BEFORE Peter spoke Acts 2:38, not AFTER, so how is tongues evidence of receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit as the result of "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins"? |
Bible Answer: What is the BEST evidence of the fullness of the Spirit? Ephes. 5:18-21 (ESV) "And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit," with the EVIDENCE of "[19] addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with all your heart, [20] giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, [21] submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ." Pentecostal (Assemblies of God) writer Ralph M. Riggs wrote: "The BEST evidence of the fullness of the Spirit is A CHANGED LIFE" (emphasis added). ____________________ "The Spirit Himself", by Ralph M.
