NASB | Romans 3:4 May it never be! Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar, as it is written, "THAT YOU MAY BE JUSTIFIED IN YOUR WORDS, AND PREVAIL WHEN YOU ARE JUDGED." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 3:4 Certainly not! Let God be found true [as He will be], though every person be found a liar, just as it is written [in Scripture], "THAT YOU MAY BE JUSTIFIED IN YOUR WORDS, AND PREVAIL WHEN YOU ARE JUDGED [by sinful men]." [Ps 51:4] |

Bible Note: Hi Tim, While I largely agree with your statement, I do believe that it is the Holy Spirit who must illumine our minds to understand the truth of God's Word. It is a mystery to me why God has not given each and every born again child of God instantaneous and pefect understanding as we read His Word. If He had we would not be laboring with each other on the forum and denominations would not exist. For His own reasons our Lord has chosen to reserve Heaven to be the place of perfect agreement and understanding. Til then may He grant us love and grace for one another as we wrestle for understanding of the truth. John |
