Bible Question (short): Looking into the heart for assurance? |
Question (full): It seems to me that prosperity or poverty have no necessary bearing on either the difficulties or ease of faith; it depends on the person's perspective. There are those who have found it hard to believe and those who found it easy to believe in both circumstances. In any case, you do not seem to have answered the question. I am not discussing expressions of genuine faith; I am discussing genuine faith itself. How does one know that the faith he professes to have in Christ is genuine so as to have obtained salvation? Are there not those who, having "looked into [their] heart for the truth of what [they] believe", have been deceived? |
