Bible Question (short): Experience is evidence? |
Question (full): That still fails to answer the question. Here is how I see it: Assurance seems to have no bearing on maturity or immaturity; certainty is certainty. Either you have assurance or you do not. If my father, when I'm 13, promises to buy me a car when I'm 21, without any conditions and I believe him, my maturiaty or immaturity has no bearing on the promise and, therefore, is irrelevant. It neither proves nor disproves that the car will be given. As such, I fail to understand how experience or growth can give any evidence of salvation and thus give be any form of assurance. Therefore, the question still remains unanswered: How do I know for sure I am saved? Or, another way to put it, how can I be assured now that when I die God will take me? |
