Bible Question:
Cheri, But how does a change in lifestyle prove "without a shadow of a doubt" that one is saved and will remain so? |
Bible Answer: Jesus said: John 10:27-29 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand" v29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. Dear Looking..., I am not sure whether you think the above verses directly answer to your questions, however, I would hope that these verses can shed some lights on your doubts. Ask yourself: Do I know His voice? Do I follow Him? Yes, we do fall away at times in our trials. However, I remember a story told by a pastor long time ago. He said that when the shepherd find a certain sheep too naughty and always goes astray that risk its life to the wild animals, he will use his staff to beat and break the sheep's leg. So that the sheep cannot walk and the shepherd will lovingly carry the sheep in his bossom and care for it dearly until it recovers. The sheep being punished will never do the same foolish thing for it is really painful for the punishment. Shalom Azure |
