Bible Question:
AF, It should be noted that Jesus' performance is not in question, nor is his heart, etc. What is in question is the genuiness of one's own heart. If it is true that the heart is deceitful, how does one know for sure that they are really believing in Jesus with all the heart and that it is not, for example, a belief with ulterior motives or a belief that is self-centered, that is, mere desire and not true believing? |
Bible Answer: Rom 8:16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God Rom 12:1-3 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith. You must differenciate between your conscience and the accusations of your enemy the devil. You do that by getting to know the Spirit of God through worship and reading His word. |
