Bible Question:
1. I would think once assured there would be no growth in assurance; certainty is certainty. Nevertheless, are you not "quantifying" the evidence by stating "the more change, the more Christ-like," etc? 2. The specific issue in question is not being "more Christ-like" but assurance of salvation. If "more" is required, how much to be certain, that is, to be assured of salvation? 3. If doubt lingers, is that being assured? 4. How can one be certain that the changes are coming from a genuine possession salvation? 5. If we are not saved by works/performance, how can they be sure and unfailing evidences of one's salvation? 6. How can one be certain today that he will persevere until tomorrow? That is, how can one be absolutley certain that his perseverance will continue until his death? |
Bible Answer: "The trouble with living sacrifices is that they tend to crawl off the alter", I once heard from a pastor. Bottom line: Christ did it all for you. Heb 10:14 For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. You just need to keep your relationship with your Father who loves you dearly. Trust and obey. |
