Subject: Divine Healing? |
Bible Note: John Refomred, You requested proof texts of God's will to heal. Matthew 4:23-24, 8:14-17, 9:32-35, 10:1, 12:15, 14:14, 14:35-36, 15:30, 19:2 Luke 4:40, 5:15, 6:17, 9:11 In each of these incidents, Jesus healed. The only place in the Bible that we find where Jesus was not able to heal was in His home town, which is very easy to explain why when we look at the context. Mark 6:1-6 "And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him. And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands? Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching" Notice verse 6 where it says "he marvled at their unbeleif." This is why He couldn't heal them; they wouldn't let Him, so He began to resolve the issue by teaching. "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17) Jesus taught so that they might hear and have faith to be healed. As for you second question, I may exceed the total 5000 charactor limit, so I'll answer that one in a subsequent post.
