Bible Question:
Sorry, I have, once again, failed to clarify my question. There is a 'theology' out in the charismatic world of Christianity today that says no christian has to be sick. They say that it is ALWAYS GOD's will for christians to be healthy, and if you're sick you must be doing something wrong. So, the conclusion is that all christians can receive a healing, if they have enough faith and do everything else that GOD wants them to do, this idea is what I was phrasing as Divine Healing. Do you believe in this idea? Do you know of any Scripture that would support it? The same movement is unearthing the idea that GOD is about to pour a financial anointing on believers, and we are going to be rich, so that GOD will be able to use our tithes. This message usually comes with a request for a 'seed' of faith to start the harvest of wealth. Is there anything is Scripture to support this idea? Please express your (everyone!!) opinion!! GOD bless!! |
Bible Answer: That's part truth and part falicy. As was answered in melchizedekau's first post yes, it is God's will for us to be healed. God is no respector of persons. He want's you to be healthy just as much as He want's me to or Benny Hin, the Pope, Charles Manson, everyone. I would suggest reading the book Christ the Healer by F.F. Bosworth. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that Christ refused to heal anyone, and He only does the work of His Father (John 5:30) so God wants us all in good health. As for prosperity, you're probably quoting a minister who unfortunately has gone off on a tangent somewhere. I believe that my God shall supply all your needs through His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19) But to say that God is going to make everyone who gives to a certain ministry prosperous or that EVERYONE will have a 100 fold return is exaulting a certain person's ministry and getting yourself way over in the ditch on one side of the road. However, to say that God makes His children poor to teach them humbleness is calling God a child abuser and putting yourself in the ditch on the otherside of the road. I perferr to stay between the two. I give to God and He said that men shall give to me in good measure and it shall come back to me in many ways(Luke 6:38). Also, you don't need to tithe or give offerings to a specific ministry to get blessed. No matter what warehouse it's in it still belongs to the same company, if you know what I mean. Pay tithes to a church that is proclaiming Christ. Give to God, not to man. Jesified |
