Dear djconklin, Peace to you in the name of Jesus! Please know that I am not being facetious when I ask: I don't know what you mean- Did three members of your flock send you encouraging mail about your sermon on Saturday (or Sunday)? Or... Did three members of this forum send you mail to the effect that they understood your point on this thread? Please lower your hackles! I have! :-) In Christ Jesus, charis |

"Did three members of your flock send you encouraging mail about your sermon on Saturday (or Sunday)?" I don't have a church; I said I was trained as a pastor (i.e., I know how to do what they are supposed to do; the pity is that many church members don't want to learn how to study the Bible for all it is worth. Apparently, they want to be spoon-fed.). I posted a study on my web site; none of my sermons that I have ever preached are posted anywhere. There is a distinct difference between the two--the study should undergird and support the sermon. ---- "Did three members of this forum send you mail to the effect that they understood your point on this thread?" Yes and encouraged me as well. They looked at my study and read it. One really, really liked my bibliography. He said that that alone was worth the visit. |

Another day and another three emails saying they are not having any trouble understanding what I am saying. And yet I'm continually being told here that some are. Why is that? In my first sermon out of the seminary I told the congregation that if I could do it (in that case it was an exegesis) they could to. It's not all that hard people. Just put one foot in front of the other and don't go any faster than what you have understood--instead of trying to run a 3 minute mile. | ||||||
