1 | Is speaking in tongues THE only sign? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140285
You state that "When we come to saving Grace through our belief in Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins we are filled with the Holy Spirit. Peter says "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Spirit). Now, which one of you is right?
2 | Is speaking in tongues THE only sign? | 1 Cor 13:8 | EdB | 140316
JCsav I think we both are. Peter was used the word baptize here in my opinion to further stress the need for repentance. They needed to symbolically wash pass sins from them, to die in Christ from the sins of the past. Again I see this Baptism as the same one Phillip must have told the Eunuch of in Acts 8 that stirred him to wanting to be baptised. EdB |

John's Baptism was for repentance. That is why they had to be re-baptised. The Baptism here is not for repentance, but for the remission of sin. And you are right again the baptism of Phillip is the same.
