Will you please tell me where in Scripture I can find,"We are saved when we ask God in our hearts, repenting of our sins, and believing in Christ for the remission of our sins." One of the places that comes from is me. But I but it this way. You must be born again of Water and Spirit. If you want to receive the Holy Ghost you must obey Acts 2:38. |

How about Romans 10:9-11 (NKJV) that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. [11] For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." Then there is Acts 2:38 which speaks of baptism but that is speaking of water baptism. And then there is these that basically say it but perhaps not in as many words. John 3:15-21 (NKJV) that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. [16] For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. [17] For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. [18] He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [19] And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. [20] For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. [21] But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God." John 3:36 (NKJV) He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." John 5:24 (NKJV) "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. John 6:40 (NKJV) And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:47 (NKJV) Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. John 11:25 (NKJV) Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. Acts 4:4 (NKJV) However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand. Acts 10:43 (NKJV) To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins." Acts 16:31 (NKJV) So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household." Romans 1:16 (NKJV) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. EdB |

Tim, I ask you the same question that I asked Edb. Have you witness and individual being filled with (receiving) the Holy Ghost (Spirit). And if so, How did you know that he was in fact recieving the Holy Ghost (Spirit).

Greetings Jcsav! Receiving or filling? I believe that Scripture indicates that an individual receives the Holy Spirit when one is saved. So, how did I know that one had received the Holy Spirit? I knew because Scripture had promised that one would receive! Now, as for being filled with the Spirit, I am in agreement with Acts 10:46, "For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God." So, you see a difference in being filled with the Spirit and receiving the Holy Spirit? And you believe you can be saved without recieving the Holy Spirit or before you receive the Holy Spirit. Do I have that correct? I am not trying to debate as I have be told. I am just trying to understand where you are coming from.

When you are saved you receive the Holy Spirit, as in Acts 2:38 and elsewhere.
