The sign that one have recieved the Holy Ghost (Spirit) is speaking in tongues. Read the Scriptures for yourself and see. Ask yourself, how did they know whether or not a believer had in fact recieve the Holy Ghost. There is also a Gift of Tongues.
2 | Is speaking in tongues THE only sign? | 1 Cor 13:8 | Searcher56 | 140230
"THE" only sign? If speaking in tongues is "THE" only sign, then I guess the other spiritual gifts (1 Cor 12) do not count. Of course ... whn you speak in another tongue, it is a known language to at least of one the human listeners ... or is it a language at all. I also think James 2 talks about a sign of a believer. |

We are not talking about a sign of a believer. We are talking about the sign of one being filled with the Holy Ghost. Did Peter say in Acts 2:38 ...believe and you shall recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost. No. Can you believe and not recieve the Holy Ghost? the answer is, Yes.
4 | Is speaking in tongues THE only sign? | 1 Cor 13:8 | EdB | 140271
Searcher56 Speaking in tongues is a sign of what is called the infilling of the Holy Spirit or the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. There has been a lot of bad teaching on this and perhaps bad choices of words. When we come to saving Grace through our belief in Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins we are filled with the Holy Spirit. We have Him all not just part. However we still have our own will and it is not until we learn to yield our will to the Holy Spirit that I believe we realize the full power of the Holy Spirit spoken about in Acts 1. I also this is very rare today however many claim to speak in tongues yet have never shared Jesus with another person. To me that is impossible! The Holy Spirit is given to empower us to witness not make us members of some unique club I every case where the person yielded himself to the Holy Spirit they spoke in tongues. However there are many, many people that are saved and have the Holy Spirit and have never spoken in tongues and probably never will. However we know speaking in tongues is authentic, it is all through the Acts and Corthinians. We can debate whether it ceased or not but that is not the discussion here. EdB |

You state that "When we come to saving Grace through our belief in Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins we are filled with the Holy Spirit. Peter says "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Spirit). Now, which one of you is right?

I was all but begged to post my beliefs and this is one reason I did not want to. Now, ever change you get (meaning you along with others) try to use it against me. Where did I say anything about my denomination (as you call it)other than when asked or in one case when I need to identify myself to a babe in Christ. Also, there are many denominations with the same beliefs.
