After saying that he was not ashamed of the gospel, this is how Paul begins his gospel presentation. If I may paraphrase: "God is angry at you and has a terrible plan for your life if you don't repent and believe the Gospel." How does this compare to the syrupy, unbiblical "God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life" presentations? Peace, Lionstrong |

This idea goes right along with the word "gospel", which means "bad news." And as John 3:17 so accurately states (paraphrased), "For God sent not His Son into the world to save the world, but that the world through Him might be condemned." Luke 19:10 -- properly paraphrased: "For the Son of man is come to seek and to lose that which was saved." Scripture twisting is easy. Anyone with half a brain can do it. |
