1 | A Wonderful Plan? How do you know? | Rom 1:18 | Reformer Joe | 20527 | ||
Johnny: You wrote: "You can even change the plan for God for you because of your free will." So God is not sovereign, but rather is dependent upon his creation? Show me where man frustrates the plan of God from Scripture. "Many plans are in a man's heart, But the counsel of the LORD will stand." --Proverbs 19:21 You wrote: "Do you think it is part of the plan of God that Judas will betray Him, if you said yes, and your God is not fair." I would be careful how you refer to our just and holy God. Let's look at what the Bible says: Jesus answered them, "Did I Myself not choose you, the twelve, and yet one of you is a devil?" --John 6:70 Jesus chose his betrayer. "Then that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: "AND THEY TOOK THE THIRTY PIECES OF SILVER, THE PRICE OF THE ONE WHOSE PRICE HAD BEEN SET by the sons of Israel" --Matthew 27:9 The payment for Judas' betrayal was prophesied centuries before. "The Son of Man is to go, just as it is written of Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born." --Matthew 26:24 The crucifixion of Jesus was planned by God, and the betrayal was an intergral part of that plan. "But there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was that would betray Him." --John 6:64 Getting the picture? FROM THE BEGINNING Jesus knew and chose one who would offer him up to those intending to kill him. The sin was Judas', but it was part of God's plan. You wrote: "So i think if God has plan for you dont accept his plan you can change it. For example God has a plan that you leave long here in this world but if you are going to jump from 100 floor of any building God will not stop you." Where is the Biblical support for this? These are nothing more than your (wrong) opinions and have no basis in the Bible. Show me just one example of God's revealed, stated plan for an individual being ruined because that individual "changed it." You won't find one, because our God is the sovereign Lord and not subjected to the whim of men. --Joe! |

Joe, Follow up: You mentioned that part of the prophecy of Jeremiah that Judas will betray Jesus Christ "Then that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: "AND THEY TOOK THE THIRTY PIECES OF SILVER, THE PRICE OF THE ONE WHOSE PRICE HAD BEEN SET by the sons of Israel" --Matthew 27:9 It is part of the prophecy because Jeremiah knows that this things will going to happened in the future but not the God orchestrated it but the devil. Take a look of this verse: Lu 22:3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. It was mentioned that Satan entered into Judas Iscariot,if it is God's plan, do you mean God coordinated Satan to entered Judas so he can betray Jesus Christ? Please explain this. If God is so Good, why he plan such a devil act like what Judas did? for what so Judas will go to hell? it is part of the God's plan that soul of Judas iscariot will go to hell? Do you think it just to Judas that he was chosen to be a betrayer of Jesus? Meaning Judas has no choice to become good because it a part of God's plan that Judas will become Bad. Do you think the soul of Judas is not important to God? If all things happened because it was God’s plan, you have to accept that God is happy with the wars and terrorist attack because his plan happened. Johnny |

"It was mentioned that Satan entered into Judas Iscariot,if it is God's plan, do you mean God coordinated Satan to entered Judas so he can betray Jesus Christ? Please explain this." Satan was all too happy to participate in the murder of Jesus Christ. God allowed Satan to do what he wanted with Judas so that His purpose would be served. Go read Job 1-2. Who brings the destruction on Job? Who brings Job to Satan's attention? Who must Satan get the "go-ahead" from in order to cause Job's calamity? Look at verse 2:10. Whom did Job recognize as the ultimate source of his distress? Satan's purpose is to cause as much distress for the creation of God as he possibly can. However, he cannot act without the permission of a sovereign God who ultimately rules over all. Again, Judas never BECAME bad. We all start out that way. If you want justice, Johnny, we all go to Hell, because none of us deserve to have a holy God take on flesh, live a sinless life among a sinful creation and die for those who will trust in him. You wrote: "If all things happened because it was God’s plan, you have to accept that God is happy with the wars and terrorist attack because his plan happened." God can decree something and at the same time not be happy with it. Let me ask you a few questions: 1. Did God not know from eternity past that the terrorism would take place? 2. Did he not allow every part of the plan to succeed just as it did? 3. Wasn't he powerful enough to stop it at any time? 4. Assuming that agree that God had always known about September 11 and saw every step of the plan taking place and and knew every thought in the mind of those terrorists, and that he was powerful enough to stop it, how can you conclude that the attack WASN'T part of His decree? For a more thorough analysis of that idea, I want to point you to a good article which tells the Biblical truth behind the question you ask: http://www.desiringgod.org/Online_Library/OnlineArticles/FreshWords/2001/091701.htm God decreed a much more evil act than Judas' betrayal or the World Trade Center tragedy. He decreed that His own perfect, blameless Son would die for crimes of spitiual treason that He didn't commit. If God hadn't decreed that, oh what trouble we would be in! --Joe! |

I wish you would stop saying things like "your God" and "my God." That smacks of New Age belief, even though I am sure that you do not adhere to such a world view. There is only one God. The question being raised here is "What is THE God like and how does he operate in the world." If your beliefs are not subject to correction, that makes you unteachable, and I pity you for that. I know that if you were to clearly and logically demonstrate where I was wrong here, that I would change the way I believed. You fail to do that, however. You basically are saying, "I don't care what your argument is and how much Scripture supports your view, I am going to continue believing what I want to believe." Wrong, wrong, wrong. --Joe! |

Our doctrine, is different from yours, so how you could say that my opinion are wrong, like what you did when you answered my question in my first post. I am not telling to anyone that thier belief is wrong what I really do is to share what I know. But if you can easily say that my opinion is wrong, how could you justify that yours are right? How many religion we have in the world? If all the people has the same interpretation of the bible why we have too many religion right now? Do you think you can say your opinion that you are right in the front of a muslims that we have here in our country? Do you think you can say directly to them that belief are wrong? Explaining any stand is not just saying that the other side is wrong but to share what you have and not judge the others opinion. So next time dont judge to fast by saying that my opinion is wrong, because I dont mentioned that yours are wrong, and I am just explaining my stand. I dont know of what religion you are belong, the same as you dont know mine. So you cannot easily say that you are the right and mine are wrong. It is only God who can justify that. Johnny |

Johnny: You wrote: "But if you can easily say that my opinion is wrong, how could you justify that yours are right? How many religion we have in the world? If all the people has the same interpretation of the bible why we have too many religion right now?" I supported my position by Scripture -- and lots of it. That's how I have justified holding the position that I do. You have yet to offer one passage which supports your interpretation. Until you can clearly demonstrate to me from the Bible where I am wrong regarding God's sovereignty over all things (even sin), why should I think that you are right? Hopefully we belong to the same religion (Christianity) even if we come from different theological perspectives. I am not judging anything too fast, by the way. I am not a person who jumps to conclusions very easily. However, you have to agree that one of us is wrong here. You say one thing; I say the exact opposite. Both of us cannot be right. You may not say use the word "wrong," but saying things like "your God is unfair" or "your God [fill in the blank]" accomplishes the same thing. I do not mind you considering me wrong, Johnny. I just wish you would provide some evidence to support your claim. It is true that there are many interpretations of Scripture out there. Many of them are incredibly wrong. There are not ten thousand correct interpretations of anything in the Bible. There is only one. I am sure that some of them I hold will turn out to be wrong, but this is definitely not one of them. We are called to tell Muslims and Hindus and Buddhists that they are wrong. We are called to tell Jews that they are wrong for rejecting their Messiah. We are called to tell atheists that they are suppressing the truth of God to their peril. We are called to tell those in cults that they are wrong in their heresy. And, using Scripture, we are called to correct our brothers and sisters in Christ when they are wrong on important doctrine (2 Timothy 3:16-17) such as the sovereignty of God. Christianity is about TRUTH, not opinions. There certainly is a tactful way of telling the truth, but don't fall into the trap of thinking that preaching the Gospel does not mean challenging the beliefs of others. You have the right to hold whatever opinion you want, but that does not mean the opinion itself is right. --Joe! |
