1 | A FALSE TEACHING? Yes / No | Matt 8:5 | gracefull | 94317
"If worm did mean "sin" which I believe it is steetching it a bit it wouldn't matter because we know swin was cast ON Jesus. But My arguement is this Sin had NO power over him nor did Satan. You show me one verse in the Bible that shows otherwise." I agree. Sin did not overpower Him, He yielded to it. If I yield to someone trying to kill me what will happen? They will kill me. If I yield to somone trying to take me somewhere I do not want to go, what will happen? They will take me there. Jesus YIELDED HIMSELF to take our place. He yielded Himself in faith that God would raise Him.Thus themeaning of "Into Thy hands I commend My spirit". By yileding Himself to take our sin upon Himself, He yielded Himself to Satan, but only until the time was up. At which time He was raised triumphantly. At THAT time He led captivity captive. Our sin offering is the blood, our victorious resurrection (the New Birth) is in His resurrection. Romans 1:3-4 3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; 4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: 1Peter 1:2-4 2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, You said.. "What you are doing by making that claim is saying Satan had power over God! Which means he got his wish:" No, I am saying Jesus yielded Himself to the full measure of our penalty. Jesus' obedience did not depict Satan's AUTHORITY over Him...but He did yield to the powers of darkness on OUR behalf. OUR RANSOM. But because He was obedient and sinless Himself, Satan could not hold Him, He had power over the grave... Matthew 20:28 just as [Matt 8:20] the Son of Man [Matt 26:28; John 13:13ff; 2 Cor 8:9; Phil 2:7; 1 Tim 2:6; Titus 2:14; Heb 9:28; Rev 1:5] did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." Ransom..the release of a person or property in return for payment of a demanded price. Let me ask a question...Who set the price for sin? God or Satan? God bless |

2 | A FALSE TEACHING? Yes / No | Matt 8:5 | EdB | 94322
Graceful By yielding Himself to take our sin upon Himself, He yielded Himself to Satan, but only until the time was up. Sin and Satan are two different things. While Satan may epitomize sin he is not sin. Nor is taking the sins of the world upon himself yielding to sin. The president of United States carries the worries of this nation upon his shoulder. It doesn’t mean he yields to them. Nor does it mean he becomes them. (some may argue that point) :-) Jesus was never in the hands of Satan, remember Jesus is God. For Jesus to have been in the hands of Satan would mean God was in the hands of Satan. For God to allow himself to be in the hands of Satan would mean it would have to relinquished His power to Satan. If God had done that do you think Satan would have given it back to allow him to resurrect accomplish the resurrection? Again don’t you see the total nonsense in this line of thought? Who set the price for sin? God of course and what was that price.? Death! Not being tortured in Hades by Satan. When the sacrifices were made each year they killed the lamb and then burned it. In fact it had to be killed very painlessly by having its jugular vein cut with a scary sharp knife. Most Lambs didn’t suffer any trauma and simply fell asleep. The point I’m making is, it wasn’t the torture but the death was what was required to cover the sins. Jesus the Lamb of God gave His life to pay for our sins. Somewhere in our twisted reasoning that doesn’t seem enough and we try to add to it, make it more agonizing than it really was. Then comes the WOF teachers and they have Jesus in hell with Satan heating red hot pokers and flogging our Lord. Nonsense! EdB |

4 | A FALSE TEACHING? Yes / No | Matt 8:5 | EdB | 94331
Graceful They go to the Lake of Fire along with Satan, and Satan won't be torturing anyone there as he is there being punished himself. They certainly don't do to hell to be tortured by Satan, since Satan ain't in hell. Scripture tells us Satan goes to and fro seeking those to devour. He also in heaven as the accuser of the Saints and he is on earth as a roaring lion. No where in scripture does it tell us Satan is the master of hell, that he tortures anyone there, or that he even visits the place. Can’t you see how silly that teaching is? It has absolutely no Biblical support other than saying Jesus went to Hades which is translated hell. And the fact many mistakenly associate hell and the Lake of Fire as the final reward of sinners. Once again Hades in the holding place for the dead awaiting judgement. It contains two chambers separated with a wide gulf. One side is a hot dry place and is where the unrighteous are. The other side in vacant but before Christ’s death it was occupied by the righteous awaiting the Christ. They are now in Heaven with the Son of Man. EdB |
